Left Open Wrist Fracture with Surgical Fixation - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This is a single custom exhibit that includes a pre-operative and post-operative condition and three of the intermediate corrective surgical steps. The pre-operative image is depicted with both a lateral and anterior view film evidence image, as well as a color interpretation of the anterior film, indicating the breaks of the ulnar styloid and the open comminuted fracture of the radius. The steps of the corrective surgery shown include the initial incision, the insertion of the K-wire to reduce the fractured radius, and the insertion and securing of a volar plate. The pre-operative view is of a film interpretation and the original film as an inset, illustration the placement of the plate in position over the radial fracture and all the screws in place.
