The Graphic Witness Medical Demonstrative Evidence - http://graphicwitness.medicalillustration.com
Item #: exh46427
This medical exhibit demonstrates the surgical removal of the gall bladder and resulting common bile duct injury. Image one orients the viewer to the general anatomy of the upper abdomen. Label callouts include: liver, gallbladder, stomach, pancreas, cystic duct and common hepatic duct. Two images below compare the expected correct post-operative condition with an actual adverse outcome. The image on left shows how the area should appear - gallbladder is absent and cystic duct is closed and double-clipped. The image on the right shows an actual outcome in which the common bile duct and common hepatic duct are mistakenly clipped.
