This medical exhibit features three large anterior (front) views of the head illustrating the injuries at multiple depths. First, one exterior facial portrait reveals his post-accident appearance- showing the 7cm stellate frontal scalp laceration, the 4.5cm eyelid laceration and the widespread swelling and bruising caused by this traumatic impact.rnrnThe second image reveals the underlying skull with all the skin and soft tissues removed. This image shows the depressed frontal skull fracture, the left orbital blow-out, the rupture of the left eye and the multiple facial fractures.rnrnFinally, the third image depicts the skull, but the anterior portions of the frontal bones will be removed to reveal the underlying brain. This image clearly shows the contusions of the brain tissue and the associated hemorrhage.
