Additional Surgical Repairs of the Left Knee - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit begins with one skeletal view of the left knee illustrating the pre-oerative condition. This image clearly reveals the lateral meniscal tear, the chondral defect of the patella, the severe degeneration of the femoral articular cartilage and the loose cartilage within the joint as well as a popliteal cyst. Also included in this exhibit are the key steps involved in the surgical repairs to the knee. These images begin with the use of an 18 gauge needle to remove clear fluid from the cyst, then the insertion of arthroscopic instruments and the removal of loose cartilage and a partial meniscectomy. At the bottom of this exhibit are actual intra-operative photographs from the arthroscopic procedure.
