Cervical Disc Herniation with Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit begins with one large sagittal (side cut-away) view of the cervical spine illustrating the pre-operative condition. This image reveals the disc herniation at C4-5 with spinal stenosis at that level. Also, the key steps of the 10/17/07 anterior discectomy and fusion procedure is illustrated revealing the exposure of the anterior cervical spine through an incision in the front of the neck, the removal of the offending disc material, the removal of portions of the vertebral bodies at C4 and C5 with a Cloward drill and the placement of the bone graft into the recipient site.
