Correct vs. Incorrect Surgical Bypass of Arterial Blockage - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit begins two large silhouette views of the left leg from the groin region down to the foot. The first image illustrates the an initial bypass and the second will illustrate an alternative graft placement. The first image shows a prosthetic graft extending from the proximal femoral artery down to the proximal popliteal artery. It is clear that there is a near total occlusion of the popliteal artery beneath the site of this bypass. As a result, it shows the lower leg from the knee down into the foot shaded in grey to represent the lack of perfusion beyond the site of the blockage.
