Traumatic Head Injuries with Surgical Fixation of Facial Fractures - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit begins with one anterior facial portrait with the skull, mandible and teeth shown transparently beneath the skin. This image clearly reveals the multiple skull and factual fractures as described in the records. This includes the bilateral mandible fractures, the right temporal and parietal fracture, the right zygomatic and maxillary sinus fractures. Next, one cut-away view of the skull and brain are included revealing the areas of intracranial hemorrhage. This image clearly shows the bleeding around the brain as seen in the actual CT scans. Next, one image is used to represent the surgical stabilization of the mandible fractures. This image includes the placement of the mandible fixation plates through open surgical incisions following the placement of the arch bars to wire the mouth closed. Finally, one additional skull view is used to illustrate the post-operative condition with all fixation hardware in place.
