Right Arm Vascular Injuries with Surgical Repair - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This series of illustrations begins depicting the right arm of a child with an external fixator holding in place the shattered bone shaft (supracondylar fracture) of the humerus as a result of a bullet type injury; and also shows an initial incision in the ventral side exposing the injured brachial artery and the ulnar artery. Next is the surgical repair, a segment of the saphenous vein has been harvested and used as bypass from the brachial artery to the radial artery. The ulnar artery is ligated. A fasciotomy is performed in the forearm. Two images are showing the post-operative condition of the arm depicting multiple scars, bone deformity and bullet fragments still inside the arm.
