Multiple Traumatic Injuries - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit depicts multiple traumas and the post-operative condition of the cervical spine. Among the traumatic injuries depicted are: distraction injury involving C5 and C6 vertebral bodies, extrusion of disc at C5-6 with spinal cord injury, hematoma with anterior displacement of trachea, right vertebral artery dissection C7 to C1, cervical fracture and instability at C5 and C6, acute respiratory failure, atrial fibrillation, resulting incomplete quadriplegia. Surgical repair consisted of an anterior bone fusion at C5-6 and a posterior bone fusion procedure from C3 to C7.
