Robotic Thyroidectomy (Abbreviated Version) - Medical Animation
This animation provides an overview of issues that may arise involving the thyroid gland. These issues lead to the thyroid gland being removed. This animation shows the thyroid gland being removed via robotic surgery. The advantage a robotic thyroidectomy has over a conventional thyroidectomy is that the incision is much smaller and in a different location. This different location (under the axillae) leaves a significantly less visible scar.
