Traumatic Spine Injuries with Posterior Cervical Decompression - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit board illustrates spinal injuries in the cervical and lumbar areas and four steps of a subsequent posterior cervical decompression.\r\n\r\nThe board is split into two parts. On the left is an orientation view of the spine and two inset images of color interpretations of the patient’s films, one cervical and one lumbar. \r\nThe right side depicts the surgery. The steps include the initial posterior incision, the laminectomy, the removal of deeper tissues by rongeur to expose the spinal cord, and the inclusion of a Blake drain.
