Current and Future Conditions of Lumbrosacral Spine - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit compares the normal condition of the lumbrosacral spine with the patient’s and a possible future condition based on the patient’s current progression. This is depicted with a series of images both sagittal and axial.\r\n\r\nThe normal condition includes images of the sagittal spine from L1-S1 and a superior view of a normal sacral vertebra and vertebral disc.\r\n\r\nThe patient’s condition is based on films provided by the client. The sagittal film demonstrates disc desiccation and loss of disc height at the levels of L4-5 and L5-S1. The axial view shows a nerve impingement of the left S1 nerve. The films are included with these illustrations.\r\n\r\nThe future illustrations are based on how things have progressed the patient thus far. These demonstrate a continued loss of disc height and further herniation of the affected discs. There is also indication of the discectomy performed to attempt to relieve the left S1 nerve.
