Posterior Surgical Procedure on Cervical Spine - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This board includes five surgical steps and a post-operative color film interpretation.\r\n\r\nThe first image is the initial incision from C3-T1 down the back of the neck. The next image is of the full laminectomy from C3-T1. The third image is a closer view to illustrate the removal of the scar tissue at C5-6 by a curette. The next step shown is the insertion of the pedicle screws. They are placed on the left at C3, C5, C6, and T1 and on the right at C3, C4, C6, and T1. The last surgical step illustrates the decortication of the surrounding bone and placement of rods and bone graft. This step is augmented by an inset of an actual post-operative film from a posterior view.\r\n\r\nThe post-operative condition is depicted with a lateral color interpretation of the film showing both the anterior hardware from the previous surgery and the posterior hardware in place, as well as an inset of the actual film.
