Cervical Spine Fusion - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit consists of five illustrations on a single exhibit. The first illustration depicts the initial incision being made in the back of the neck. The second illustration portrays the surgical field once the spine has been exposed. The gross disruption of the C6-7 ligament clearly shown. The third illustration shows removal of the C6 right facet with a drill. The fourth illustration portrays the placement of the hardware in the spine to complete the fusion. The fifth illustration is a lateral view of the bones of the inferior cervical spine after the completion of the surgery. The bones are drawn semi-transparently so that all of the placed hardware is visible.
