McRoberts Maneuver - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This exhibit illustrates the benefits of positioning the patient with the McRoberts maneuver. The board is divided between the traditional position and the position the maneuver places the patient in.rnrnBoth sides consist of two images. On the left side are images from before making the maneuver. First is the image of the mothers shillouette with the lumbar spine and pelvis with the pubic symphysis in a diagonal position to the spine. The bottom image shows how with the pelvis being like this, the babys shoulder can catch on the pubic symphysis. On the right side, the images depict how moving the mothers legs back pushes the pelvis into a more lateral position and widens the birth canal for the infants shoulders.
