Supracondylar Fracture with Arterial Damage - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This medical exhibit uses four illustrations to show how a supracondylar fracture of the left humerus caused forearm necrosis in a pediatric patient. Images one and two orient the viewer to the area of injury. Image three shows the extent of the fracture in relation to the surrounding vasculature. The fractured, displaced distal humerus is shown traumatizing and kinking the brachial artery. Image four shows the subsequent necrotic condition of the left forearm musculature.
