Bilateral Ischial Ulcers with Surgical Debridement and Closure - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit illustrates the surgical debridement of bilateral ischial ulcers with closure. First, the pre-operative condition is presented using a posterior view with the bony anatomy ghosted inside the skin and bed sores clearly visible over the ischial prominences. The second image shows the excision of the ulcer on the right side along with a partial ischiectomy with an osteotome. The third image depicts the creation of a V-Y advancement flap. Next, the translocation of the flap over the ischium and suturing into place are demonstrated, and the gluteal muscle can be seen advanced with the flap. Finally, a complete post-operative condition is shown with bilateral closure.
